Disabling the Active Desktop

Start Regedit
Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Create a new Binary Value
Name it NoActiveDesktop
Give it a value of 01 00 00 00
